Time to …

1 For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to break down and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
5 a time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek and a time to lose;
a time to keep and a time to throw away;
7 a time to tear and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
8 a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

The Book of Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a time for everything under the sun. Three years ago, there was a time when you and I met for the first time. With both worry and anticipation, I began my ministry with you, and since then, we have shared many joyful and meaningful moments together. At first, things were a bit awkward, but over time, we grew closer and came to understand one another.

Now, the time has come for me to say goodbye to this beloved church and its dear members. When I first shared this news, many of you were surprised, saddened, and even upset. At this moment, we may not fully understand God’s will. But I believe that if we continue to live faithfully, following the times God gives us, we will one day look back and begin to see glimpses of His purpose. So, to my First & Wesley family, I pray that each of you continues to live your life of faith wholeheartedly, wherever you are. And I especially ask you to warmly welcome and support Pastor Frank, who is coming to serve this church, so that together you may continue to build God’s kingdom.

May God’s grace and love always abound in this place.
