When your child reaches 7th or 8th grade, he/she may join the Confirmation class. Through confirmation, the church renews its commitment to the Christian growth and discipleship of your child. He/she will have an opportunity to personally commit to their journey of faith and take on for themselves the vows that their parents took at baptism.

Your church has prepared a series of educational experiences, guidance, and opportunities for the confirmation of your child. As your pastor, I believe that confirmation represents one of the most important events in the journey of your child’s faith. I am confident that your child will experience confirmation as a time of growth, deeper commitment, and joy. I would like you and your child to be part of this process. Through confirmation, your child will be able to explore personal faith, to develop a significant relationship with a person in our church who is deeply committed to Christ, to ask questions, and to develop a deeper sense of commitment to the church. In a world that needs to slow down, unplug and learn our history this connection is more important than ever.

Each confirmand is required to attend Sunday services and the 15 Confirmation classes with the pastor and to complete 25 hours of volunteer church service. As a parent, your encouragement and participation in this program are essential. As a Christian parent, in choosing to raise your child within the church, you are fulfilling your God-given responsibility. We hope that, through confirmation, we can assist you as we work together to strengthen the faith and the commitment of these young disciples.
